To be honest, I haven't always had things figured out. When I first started my business, I made all the mistakes most members of the “Almost There Alliance” make.
- I hired the wrong positions right out of the gate and it almost cost me my entire business.
- I ignored SOPs and systems because “my hands were too full” to document processes.
- I tried to outsource portions of the business that should have been my top priority.
In short, I was running an expensive hobby. The year I turned the ship around, I had made a decision that my business would support my family and not the other way round. I had decided that I was not going to burn out at work and give my children a lesser version of me.
So I became consumed, not just with “scaling my business”. But with learning how to do it in a way that would be sustainable for the long-term.
In a way that honoured my marriage, my children, my relationship with God and those who began working on my team.
I was diligent to study under 8 and 9 figure business leaders. I invested in my growth in order to learn how to scale myself, and we 5x’ed our revenue, then 3x'ed it the next year, then 2x’ed it the next year and on and on for the last 7 years. Today we are the verified 74th fastest growing company in Canada.
And yes, I am a service provider just like yourself.
